Funeral Ceremonies

For families in bereavement, I assist with the planning of a ceremony that reflects the life and personality of their loved one who has died.  Each ceremony is uniquely tailored to suit the wishes of the bereaved, and to honour the memory of the person who has died.  Ceremonies, whether large or intimate, are all conducted with dignity, empathy and understanding.  My aim is to assist those who are grieving through some of the grieving process.

Naming CeremoniesBaby Namings

Major events in any person's life need to be celebrated.  For parents who do not wish for a religious naming ceremony for their child (such  as Christian Baptism) the option is for a Civil Naming Ceremony.

The naming ceremony is where the child is formally introduced into the  family and community in which he or she will grow up.  It is an  important milestone in a person's identification as a member of their  society.

Naming ceremonies may take place wherever is best for the family.  It  can be an intimate celebration in the family home, or a more formal  and larger celebration, say in a reception centre or community hall.   Symbols/gifts may be given to the child being named for keepsake/remembrance purposes.  Each ceremony is personally devised and written  by myself and the parents of the child.  A Certificate of Naming is  provided.

Same Sex CeremonyCommitment Ceremonies

A Commitment Ceremony is available for any couple who wishes to make a  public declaration of their relationship. It is available for all couples, irrespective of sexual orientation.  Each ceremony is personally  crafted to the requirements of the couple. This may be a ceremony in  which a couple wish to re-affirm their commitment to each other after  a number years of marriage or living together.

A Commitment Ceremony has no legal standing, but a Certificate of  Commitment is given to the couple as proof of their ceremony.

Re-Affirmation of Marriage Vows

A married couple may wish to re-affirm their marriage vows after an  interval of time, or for a particular anniversary at say, ten or  twenty-five years of marriage.  Together we will craft a ceremony to  suit the occasion, having the formality and joyousness of the celebration foremost when planning the ceremony.
